LOOKING AHEAD

Holy Week  - Some important things are happening. On Monday 29th March , Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st at 7:30 - 8:15pm in Church Please join us for some important teaching on Worship. Oli and Emily Nichols are going to be speaking. It'll be a chance for us all to engage more deeply in the activity we've been created for. It feels really important and it could be a time which helps us all the reengage with God. It certainly is at the heart of our vision for this year.

On Maundy Thursday we are going to have a very special event which will help us take our worship worldwide. The event is being done in partnership with Open Doors and is called 'Dine with them.' It will be limited to 80 people and it will involve a three course meal and stories from the persecuted Church. Our hope is that it'll be an inspiring and life changing evening which will again enable us to engage more deeply with God. It starts at 7:30pm and will cost £5.

Good Friday will see our Walk of Witness at 10:30am and hour at the cross at 2pm.

Easter Day will have our normal All Age Easter Communion at 9:30am and 11:15am but there will be an important New Worship Event called WIRED. This will be at 7pm and we hope it will be a Worship event which will inspirational, awe inspiring, challenging and engaging. It will build on the teaching of Oli and Emily earlier in the week. We're hoping that God will do new things through our Church as a result of WIRED.

THE HOTHOUSE needs your crème eggs for their special Easter Event.  Please ‘lay’ them in the basket at the back of church. Thank you.

Prayer Diary – Week Beginning March 8th

Monday 8th March
Thank God for the great day we had yesterday with our Tear Fund Lunch. Pray for Tear Fund and all that it's involved with around the world. Money is still tight and the credit crunch has had great impact on aid agency funding, so pray that people would continue to be generous and that our generosity can reach the millions in great need in our world.

Tuesday 9th March
Thank God again for all the work done last week with Open Door. Thank God for Gary and Sue for all their hard work in putting the three days of activity on. Pray for each child that came, that what they saw, heard and did, will have a life long lasting effect on their lives. Pray that the love of Jesus will impact on their thinking as they grow and develop.

Wednesday 10th March
Pray for our church family here in Aldridge. Pray for our community, and ask that God will inspire us to have new initiatives of reaching out to them. The love of Christ is not just for the chosen few but for everyone, so pray now for the street where you live that God will in some wonderful way give you an opportunity to speak to someone about what Jesus means to you.

Thursday 11th March
Pray for world issues. It's so easy to forget Haiti when that country is not in the media headlines. The suffering goes on, but God is doing great things through the sufferings. 1 million Haitians came together to pray and repent recently in an amazing way, but it never got press coverage! Pray that their prayers of repentance will have such a great impact on the situation in that country and that God will continue to rebuild communities that love and fear Him.

Friday 12th March
Pray for our Young People as they meet at YF tonight. Pray afresh into the vacant Youth Coordinator's post that God will show us ever so clearly what He wants for this amazing group. Pray for patience as we wait on him and thank God for every child and young person in our church family. They are such a blessing to us and we need to thank God for them and let them know how much we appreciate them.

Saturday 13th March
Family day for many today. Pray for relationships between man and wife, children and parents and between friendships groups. Pray for the marriage preparation course that happens each Monday. Marriage is so under attack these days and often seen as unnecessary by so many couples with children. Pray that people will realise that marriage shows real permanent commitment to each other and it is God's way of bring man and woman together and how they should live their lives together.

Sunday 14th March
It's mothering Sunday today and a time to celebrate and show appreciation for our mothers. The bible teaches us to honour our mothers and fathers, so let's tell our mothers just how much we do value them and thank them for the sacrifices they make for us. Pray that God will help heal any broken relationships that may have occurred over the years. Pray for those who have lost parents that on this special day, they will be surrounded by God's love and comfort.

Through the week  Please pray for those who are unwell, including Mike Carr, Gladys Cox, Nicholas Harrison, Martin Leech, Angie Luik, Nancy Sly, Vera Stickland, Marianne Swain, Len Trew, Linda Titley and Ray Williams.   Pray too for those who have been bereaved recently, remembering especially the families of William Ferguson, John Edge and Dorothy Wakeman.
