Dear All,
Again we've been trying to find a spare half hour to
write another quick update for ages but life, the universe and
everything seems to keep imposing itself and getting in the way.
Last time we wrote we
had Rob and Issy Ford visiting from the UK. We did manage to get
away for a week with them and got plagued by wild animals at night
in our campsite in Swaziland, surrounded by shed loads of colourful
fish whilst snorkelling in the Indian Ocean and went on a Hippo and
Crocodile hunt in northern Natal. It was great to get away.

As soon a they left Matthew
came home for a week. Paul had a flight but managed to get someone else to
do that so we could at least spend a bit of meaningful time together.
Matthew left this last w/e and
Daniel Traynor, another friend from Brum in the UK arrived. He's here for
three months work experience and is mainly helping out in the hanger. He
seems to be settling in well but only complaint we have is that he doesn't
drink tea!!
The flying front is just
starting to quieten down after about three months of exceptional busyness.
Paul reached a milestone today as he flew his 1000th hour on the way back
from JHB International after dropping some Australian missionaries off on
their way home to Oz.
On one trip he flew a team up
to Zimbabwe for their missions annual conference and on another spent some
time in central Moz at a mission station with some guys from Maputo. We had
two planes on this trip and one was able to evacuate a guy who had had a
fairly bad accident at a building site in the bush.
Cathy's still plugging away at
Africa School of Missions in their mobile clinic and she is also doing a
course in the assessment and treatment of children aged 0 - 5 years. She
also has a couple of home deliveries planned in the next few months (of
babies that is not newspapers!). She enjoyed her birthday this month and was
very impressed with all those who sent emails, thank you.
Flying has slowed now partly
because we have done so much recently that two of our planes are in the shop
for routine maintenance. As Paul needs to write the Mercy Air newsletter,
get a new brochure out and sort next years calendar, we don't think there'll
be too much spare time these next few weeks.
