June's Last Bulletin June 2008    June's Home Page - click here

It is with such tremendous sadness that we announce the death of June.

This great Christian lady passed away quite peacefully at about 12noon 8th June 2008 with Val & Sandy at her side.

June lived her life totally for God and she is now at rest and peace with Him, free from the dreadful disease that plagued her.

She will be such a loss for us, but what a gain for the company of heaven!

Please pray for all those particularly close to June, especially those who tirelessly and wonderfully cared for her in the remaining months of her life.

Praise God too for her life and all those she touched (and there were plenty!) She was such a witness to the power and love of God, and such an example of how we should seek to live out our lives for Him and His glory.

Here is the last mail we had in from Val about June's passing

Dear Friends of June,

Yesterday June woke from a nap and said, "It's not going to be long now, Val. I'm ready." All day she urged us to stay close, and not go out of the room for long.  At one point she said to us, "I'm a little frustrated.  I said I'm ready, and I'm still here!"   For the past couple of weeks bedtime has been a little scary for June as she anticipated the onset of breathlessness, and wondered if she was going to be able to sleep.  Last night she didn't seem worried. She lay back, closed her eyes, and slept peacefully.  Sandy was awake all night, watching her. I was due to begin the day shift at 6am, but awoke a little early.  I went in, sat beside her and took her hand. She wasn't alert, but after I'd said to her that I was there, her breathing, slowed, and just....stopped.  There was a strong sense of the Lord's presence in the room, and then she was gone.

I want to thank you for praying her through this last illness.  June was an incredible witness of the Lord's Grace and Sufficiency to all she came in contact with.  We will all miss her, but I know she would want me to ask you to give thanks to God for a life well lived in His service.

With grateful thanks,

Val Hodgkin
