PRAYER CALENDAR - Iglesia Anglicana Paraguaya
- September 2007
Dear Prayer partners,
We would appreciate your prayers for those who are suffering through
lack of water in the Chaco and country areas of Paraguay. Some ranches
have lost everything in the fires - buildings, fences, trees, grass -
but so far the indigenous communities and the Anglican Centre in Rio
Verde have escaped anything serious. However the aljibes (underground
cisterns) are empty and there is only a low level of water in the
tajamares now which is not good for drinking and can bring sickness
and diarrrhoea.
Give thanks also for answered prayer. Last Friday 24th we were praying
for Beryl Baker and the next day Saturday 25th, God preserved her from
harm. Travelling back from a medical visit to La Patria and still 80 kms
away from the Transchaco Road, one of the wheels of her truck shot off,
bounced and ended up in a tree! The vehicle veered into the side of the
road but didn't overturn and Silvia who was accompanying Beryl was able
to climb the tree and retrieve the wheel! Certainly Beryl with her back
problem would not have been able to do that or even lift it! They were
eventually helped by a passing truck driver to temporarily fix the wheel
on ( using nuts and bolts from other wheels!) and they slowly made it
safely back to the clinic.
Prayer is the key to it all - whoever we are or wherever we are, we can
be a vital part of Christian ministry.
With our love and greetings in the Lord,
John and Judie.
