PRAYER CALENDAR - Iglesia Anglicana Paraguaya - – November 2006 Ps. 121:” …my strength comes from God……God’s your Guardian, right at your side to protect you……he guards you now, he guards you always.” (The Message) 5. Pray for Tim Curtis & the 3 Bible translators as they attend their United Bible Society training course in Peru. For their health & good concentration & for God’s protection on their families in Rio Verde in their absence. 6. Pray for God’s strength & protection for Genaro, Clorinda & their family as they maintain the Anglican Centre in Rio Verde especially in Tim’s absence, giving thanks that rain fell just at the right moment to replenish the water cisterns. Pray for the witness of the local leaders & congregation there & for those who make pastoral visits to them from the city. 7. Continue to pray for Bishops John and Andres, the other Southern Cone Bishops & the Provincial Executive as they meet in Buenos Aires & for the selection process for the next Diocesan Bishop in Northern Argentina. For Judie & Estela Rodriguez as they travel today to Bs.As. for complementary meetings & time of fellowship together with other bishops wives. 8. Give thanks for the weekly CALEB leaders meeting in Asuncion. Pray for Chris Somervell & Mari Brice as they share about children’s ministry today & the resources already available or still needed. Pray for vision & creativity in this vital ministry in the local congregations & for God’s strength & encouragement for those who faithfully serve each week. 9. Give thanks for God’s guidance in the Extra Ordinary Synod last month & the appointment of a Nominating Committee to look for the next Diocesan bishop in Paraguay. Pray for bishop Andres as he heads up that Committee & for wisdom & discernment for each member – Pastors Elvio Cabañas & Jorge Arevalos, Eduardo Brice, Teodosio Rivas, Mirian de Greco & Romualdo Rojas. Pray that God’s will in this may be revealed & acted upon. 10. Give thanks for the 2 EMA weekends this year & pray for the end of year supper tomorrow. For God’s blessing & protection on all the couples who seek to deepen their marriage relationships. For wisdom for the EMA leadership team as they consider next year’s activities & for pastor Tony & Chris as they counsel couples & families. 11. Pray for God’s Holy Spirit to work through Stephen & Eileen & the St. Andrew’s congregation as they receive English speaking residents at the Remembrance Day service tomorrow & for God’s blessing on Eileen’s mother’s health. Pray too for bishop John as he travels to the UK today. 12. Pray for the staff & pupils of St. Andrew’s & the Annexe schools during this very pressured time of end of year exams. For good physical & emotional health & for strength each day as the temperatures rise & humidity increases. For God’s peace & joy. Pray especially for Mags & Liliana as they continue to work on the complicated school timetable with so many fulltime & peripatetic staff. Also for Gwen Carlisle & the Senior Management team in their multiple responsibilities. 13. Pray for the 23 final year students, who will be leaving St Andrew’s School to go on to University, that the gospel will be such a part of their life that they will be able to use their intellect to make a difference in their country for the good of others. Pray also for Chris & Alison Hawksbee – for safety & wisdom for Chris in his many journeys to & from the Chaco. For grace & perseverence as he accompanies the indigenous leaders in the best use of their land. 14. Pray for pastor Luis & Regina as they move from Roque Alonso into the pastoral house in Zeballos Cue. Give thanks for the wonderful way God has guided us all in this arrangement & pray for his blessing on this new stage of their ministry. For their family & for adequate oversight for the annexe congregation in Mirador. 15. Pray for Bishop John in his visit to the UK, especially for the meeting on Saturday 18th to discuss & pray about the best way forward for volunteer ministry in Paraguay. For God to overrule & clearly guide us so that churches in the UK & in Paraguay may all be blessed by our interdependence in the Body of Christ. Give thanks for all that has been achieved through Project Paraguay so far. 16. Pray for God’s peace & strength & restoration to health for indigenous patients in hospital in Asuncion. For wisdom for Osvaldo as he liaises with different hospitals & agencies to obtain some of the necessary medical supplies & for sufficient funds here to supply the remainder & to cover the high costs of transport. 17. Give thanks for the young people who attend the EJE follow up meetings & pray for God’s guidance & strength for the leadership team preparing for the absence of Patrick & Rosie on home ministry leave from mid Dec- end of April. Pray for volunteers Niven and Lucy Bull preparing to come to Asuncion next month to support the youth work both in EJE· & in the San Andres evening congregation. For their heath & adaptation & for spiritual protection. 18. Pray for all the preparations in Paraguay for the World Day of Prayer service on March 2nd next year, which has been written by Christian women from different denominations in Paraguay. Give thanks for this opportunity for worldwide prayer for this nation & pray for our President & his government. Give thanks for the measure of reform that has been accomplished. 19. Pray for the church leaders & congregations in the Sombrero Piri/El Estribo area of the Chaco as the arrival of electricity approaches, that they may know how to prepare their people both in its wise use, safety standards & covering of costs. For guidance for pastor Teodoro in Palo Blanco as he prepares for an evangelistic campaign in mid-December & for more leaders to accompany him in his ministry. For his wife Severiana & family 20. Pray for strength& wisdom for Bishop Andres as he ministers in Concepcion & also travels to country & indigenous areas. For Estela & the family, giving thanks for those who are now taking an active part in church life - especially for Saul & Norma & their two children, as they shortly move into Barrio Inmaculada to oversee the new indigenous hostel & the existing children’s work there. 21. Pray for the end of term services at St. Andrew’s School - 22ndKindergarten; 23rd Preschool & 29th Ninth Grade. Pray for this great opportunity to share God’s Word with parents & grandparents. 22. Give thanks for answered prayer in obtaining documents for the Metcalfe’s daughter Luli. Pray for good health for all the family & for God’s overruling in the arrangements for their visit to the UK next month. For the work of the Esperanza Home & the little ones living there. For Juana, whose sister died last month, giving thanks for the loving care & cover given by the others in the team. 23. Pray for pastor Tony & Chris & the Villa Guarani congregation. For a spiritual breakthrough in families where there are mental health problems or strained family relationships. For the building up of a pastoral team & for the plans to start the second phase of the project to provide Sunday school rooms & an EMA storeroom. Give thanks for the facilities built in the first phase which are already in good use. 24. Give thanks for the Roque Alonso congregation & the annexe churches in Remansito & Mirador. Pray for pastor Cefe & Ana & the lay leaders who minister there. For God to strengthen & equip others to enlarge the team. For Babs involved in the youth work & for others in children’s ministry. 25. Pray for pastor Guillermo, Rossi & family in Concepcion & for Guillermo’s ministry in San Juan & Yvypobo. Give thanks for the small agricultural cooperative now functioning in San Juan between 5 families & pray for a good result from this experiment, that it may provide income & a better diet for the people there. For the lay church leaders & young people studying a SEAN Bible course. Pray for the building up of leaders in Yvypobo where there is a mixed indigenous/campesino group of very wide age range. For wisdom over literacy plans as many of them are unable to read the Bible. 26. Pray for God’s blessing as today another 24/7 Prayer Week commences in San Andres church. For the morning & evening congregations & their leaders, & for Feliciano & Donald in their theological studies. For pastor Agustin & Teresa & all the preparations for the Christmas activities. 27. Pray for God’s intervention in the marriages of 3 recently converted women in the Concepcion congregation who have been abandoned by their husbands. Pray that the men might return to their wives and families & give an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to bring about new relationships. 28. Pray for pastor Jorge & Rebeca & the congregation in Luque & San Lorenzo. Give thanks for the life of Samuel Gonzalez & continue to pray for Sara & the family as they adjust to their loss. Give thanks for their testimony to God’s strength in their lives. Pray too for the children’s ministry in San Lorenzo & for God’s confirmation over future plans for development there. 29. Pray for Ed Brice in his teaching role both in the Chaco, amongst the pastors & lay leaders, & also in study groups in Asuncion. For Mari in the preparation & coordination of Sunday school material & in her work with Red Viva. Pray too for all the Chaco pastors & lay leaders as they prepare for end of year activities when many people who work out on the ranches, come back to the communities for time with their families. For a receptivity to God’s word in their lives.
30. Give
thanks & pray for all the FEISA staff & students. For the classes
& many out of class activities such as the “Ludoteca” play
library, the training of Enxet women to play & motivate their
preschool age children & visits to the Adoption Centre. Pray for
Rupert as he prepares the end of year financial report & budget &
for God’s provision for next years needs. For the Dean, Sra. Estela
& FEISA Executive team, Caroline, Samantha & Gloria. Also for safety in
travel for Bishop John as he returns to
Asuncion
today. |
