Happy Christmas!
Thank you for your prayers and support. I  hope you're all keeping well; here is an update on the last newsletter.
The first term of my second year at college has been very busy but has gone really well. I have started studying my specialist subjects, which are cross-cultural studies and pastoral studies. I have really enjoyed these lectures and feel that I have made the right choices. As part of mypastoral studies I visited a funeral home to learn how to organise a funeral and how to care for and prepare the deceased for their funeral. I also learnt ways of caring for relatives and friends of the deceased. This was a strange experience but it was a valuable one that I appreciate having.

Part of the second year course is to have a retreat from college life for a week. At the end of October I went to a Franciscan Nunnery in Compton Durville, Somerset with my Cross-Cultural class. It was good to have a break from college life and spending time with God. It was also interesting to see how Franciscan nuns live and to learn about their way of life.

For my weekly placement I am working in an international student café called the Mustard Seed every Friday evening from 7:30-11:00. Most of the students who come to the café are international students who come so they can build friendships and practice their English. It also gives students the opportunity to hear Gods word, which gives us a chance to witness and evangelise to the students and invite them to Church services and Christian events. I really enjoy spending time with international students, I am learning a lot about other cultures as well as learning phrases in different languages.

On 5th December I was involved in a service at Guys Marsh Prison for men along with seven other people from college. The service went well and quite a few prisoners turned up. After the service a couple of guys requested that we prayed with them, which was really encouraging. I really enjoy doing this type of ministry and it was great to see how God is working in their lives.

In the last week of term we had a carol concert and a talent show. The whole of my year group did our own version of the nativity play. I was an angel and we all had a lot of fun!

Please Praise For:-   - God has given me funds through personal donations and trusts. College gave me a bursary fund of £1500 so next terms fees are already paid.- The first term of this year has gone so well.

Please Pray For:-     - I am hoping to do my block placement with the homeless, possibly staying in Bournemouth to work with Bournemouth Housing Association for five weeks. My block placement will start after February half term until the Easter holiday - Academic work and weekly placement work continues to go well.

Thank you again for your prayers and support. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and a joyful New Year.

Lots of love Hannah x
