Last Tuesday,
Wednesday and
Thursday
(2/3/4th March)
saw 230 children
from local
primary schools
spend the day in
our church. The
children from
Cooper and
Jordan,
Leighswood,
Whetstone Field,
St James
Brownhills,
Walsall Wood and
Hydes Ville
Tower had an
opportunity to
discover God’s
love. Thanks to
a great team of
volunteers the
children were
able to take
part in
workshops that
ranged from
painting a tile
or stained glass
window, learning
calligraphy,
art, making a
chalice and
paten to
modelling clay.
All the
activities were
inspired by what
the children saw
around them.
There was a time
of sung worship,
bible reading
and prayer as
well as
discovery
sheets. These
discovery sheets
enabled the
children (and
some of the
volunteers) to
learn lots about
our church.
They learnt
about the
stained glass
windows, the
name of the Lych
gate and what
its name means,
they looked for
particular
stones in the
church yard,
counted heads on
the outside of
the church
building and so
much more.
It was such a
privilege to
spend the day
with these 8 and
9 years olds
showing them
that church
isnot just a
building but a
really exciting
place to be. A
great time was
had by all –
thank you for
your prayers and
I encourage you
to come along
next year to
help out.
