Hello everyone

Thank you all so much for your prayers, support and encouragement for the Liverpool Half Marathon which took place yesterday (Sunday 29th March). I was one of a dozen or so people from Betel of Britain who completed the course, and I stayed at Betel on Saturday night - the hardest bit was getting up early to travel to Liverpool just a couple of hours after the clocks went forward!
It was a beautiful sunny day, and the course was very enjoyable - up past the Anglican cathedral, through several parks, and the home stretch along the river.

My time was a lot quicker than I'd been expecting - 1 hour 38 minutes - prayer-assisted, obviously! Also I can honestly say that my dodgy knee is now better than it has been for a couple of years: as my training went on, my knee just got better and better - another gracious answer to prayer I believe!
Thanks also for all the generous donations to the work of Betel that so many of you have made or pledged; it's hugely appreciated, and a mark of our vision and action as a church to support Christian mission and welfare in our region and nation. I think I've just about reached  the target of £100 per mile, but I'll confirm that when I know for sure! It's not too late to donate - either in person or via the web  site http://smartgive.com/showpublicevent.php?url=GavBetelRun - though for technical reasons the website can't take donations for the next few days. I'll also have gift aid forms for those of you who can fill them in. Cheques to 'Betel of Britain' - thanks.

Please keep on praying for Betel - its leaders, workers, and members - that Jesus will finish what he's started and make new men and women of
all of them, and of all of us too!

With love and many thanks once again,
Gavin
