Marriage – Gemma Dhillon and Richard Adam - July 2004

Some of you will remember Gemma who was brought up in Aldridge and has gone through all the youth groups here at APC. She left Aldridge to go to university 5 years ago and got married at APC this summer. Here are some photos of the wedding day for those of you who have asked to see them. (Also see http://homepage.mac.com/silver6d/PhotoAlbum10.html)

Gemma is half Indian and Richard’s family is Scottish so there was a real mixture of cultures in their wedding. Gemma and Richard really wanted the service to be Christ centred and were keen for the gospel to be preached to their non-Christian friends and family.

They also requested that anyone who wanted to give a wedding gift make a donation to ‘CARWE – Jitgarh Children’s Home’ instead, so that they could share the generosity of their friends and family at such a special time.  CARWE (Christian Academy for Rural Welfare and Evangelism), is a multi-faceted ministry spread in Uttaranchal, India. Gemma had the privilege of working for a couple of months last year at Jitgarh Children's Home at Vikaspuri near DehraDun in North West India and is keen to support the work that goes on there. The home provides food, clothing, education and Christian teaching to the poor and destitute children in that region. It also caters for the holistic needs of the healthy children of leper parents. (See www.carwe.org  )

They are delighted to have received over £1,500 for Jitgarh Children’s Home so thank you so much to all who contributed!

Richard and Gemma now live in Leamington Spa and are currently involved in a church plant in the area. Gemma is working as a trainee solicitor and Richard is a teacher.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.
