DOWN'S SUPPORT COFFEE MORNING
SATURDAY 6TH JUNE 2004 AT 4,TYNINGS LANE, ALDRIDGE.
 |
|
I would just like to say a big THANK
YOU to everyone who supported the coffee morning. We had far more
people than I expected which was great. Some people even attended from the
advert I managed to get in the express and star and the Walsall Chronicle.
One lady came who had set up a Down's syndrome centre in Nottingham and
has now retired to Aldridge and she came with tears streaming down her
face. |
It really was uplifting to know how much
the church as supported me through this. It was a great witness to the other
mothers and fathers there too who don't go to church and they thought who
wonderful and generous the church has been to me. It is a great way to bring
Christ to these families without forcing it down their throats if you know
what I mean. I can't tell you how wonderful it felt to have that support. I
had a big grin on my face all day. Most people couldn't believe it was the
first coffee morning I had organised and asked me when the next one was!!
Many thanks to people who baked cakes,
some of them only lasted on the table a few minutes before being purchased!!
Also a big thank you to Kath,
Heather and Andrew Leese who worked in the kitchen behind the scenes enabling
everyone got their drinks. Andrew never seemed to have his hands out the
washing up water!!!
God really seems to be working in this
vision that I have and has encouraged me through so many of you with your
support,
£167 was raised with a further £30 from
those of you who bought cakes at church on the Sunday morning. So once again
Thank you so much for all your support.
I have enclosed some photos for people
to have a look at.
Please continue in your prayers for the
group. I am meeting up with the Staffordshire Down's support group tomorrow so
I can liaise with them and get their support as well so your prayers would be
very much valued for that.
